Journalism Internship
We are looking for an enthusiastic journalism intern to contribute in the publication of timely articles, reviews and blog posts about our current clientele. The successful candidate will be a skilled writer with a passion for the job capable of both informing and entertaining our readers. You will also need great interpersonal communication skills for interacting with and maintaining positive relationships with current/prospective clients.
This internship will help you acquire marketing and journalism skills and provide you with the knowledge of various marketing strategies. You will also develop important customer relationships skills, useful for any future career. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and journalism and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
· Interview key persons (current clients: business owners, marketers etc.) to obtain more information
· Use findings to construct a well-written article/blog post
· Retain awareness of the readers’ point of view
· Obtain first-hand information by visiting our clients in store and use that information to create an article/review/blog post
· Comply with the moral code of the profession
· Maintain detailed notes
· Create unique video content whist visiting our clients and experiencing their business
· Work with our marketing and social media team to help create integrated marketing campaigns
· Establish contacts and sources for use in future research
Requirements
· Currently studying journalism
· Basic previous knowledge of business marketing would be an advantage (but not necessary)
· Portfolio of any previously published articles or written works (not necessary but would be advantageous)
· Ability to work in a challenging and dynamic workplace
· Ability to adhere to deadlines
· Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases)
· Excellent communication and networking skills along with an aptitude in extracting information
· Good observation and deduction skills
· Integrity and morality
· Ability to work in a team environment
